Evan’s son Weston’s memoir!

It’s rare that you have the opportunity to hear the same gripping story from two points of view. Evan tells the story of his gay son’s journey from the dad point of view in his book, Gay Latter-day Saint Crossroads. Now read the same story through Weston’s own eyes in his compelling memoir, This Body of Water.

Both Evan and Weston are unflinchingly honest, even in these highly personal and vulnerable journeys.

Wes is a vivid writer. Trauma writing isn't easy, and he handled it deftly and beautifully. Here are my favorite parts:

Page 84 - feeling like I was split into two personalities, gay Wes and LDS Wes. Both of me hate each other.

156 - constant moral dilemma of wanting to be a good person but destroying the world simply by being alive

198 - silence your mind's not-enough-isms (brilliant turn of phrase)

What does the title mean? We’ll let Wes explain it. Enjoy the book!
